I recieved my new stronglight Impact recently and surprised at how nice in appearance it was. Then I turned it over to see the inside of the arms and noticed that they completely unfinished. I mean "casting pits from the mold". I haven't tried it out yet and it won't affect performance but it will appear dingy. That might be nit picking but I like my bike to look good. Those pits hard clean. For that I'm disappointed. I will probably at least sand the pits out before I install it. So far a little disappointed and thought people should know

      Q&A
        • Suitability for 7/8 speed? Your spec says CSA 9/10 but it appears that some folks are using these as replacements on 1980's road bikes. Can you clarify please?
        • Thanks for getting in touch.

The manufacturer recommends that it is for 9/10 speed. It may be possible to use this with other speeds, but I cannot guarantee the compatibility or efficiency if going against manufacturers recommendations.

        • Are these 110BSD if I would want to change the chainrings later?
        • Thanks for your query.

The rings are indeed a 110BCD.
