Time Trial Bikes
Drag reducing, aerodynamic speed machines with a winning heritage
Stretched out and aerodynamic these bikes are designed with wind tunnel tested technology and built for going fast in a straight line in time trials. These aren’t your everyday bikes, they have a sole purpose – speed!
Ribble sponsored the young Chris Boardman MBE and during this period Chris won five consecutive 25-mile time trial championships (from 1989 to 1993), the 50-mile championship in 1991 and 1992. He also broke the record for 25 miles.

Ribble Ultra TT Bike Builder
Flagship time trial performance bike - Carbon TT Bike
Designed and perfected with ultimate watt-saving aerodynamic efficiency as the priority, the new Ultra TT is a bike bred purely to go fast. Raced by Ribble Pro Team riders, the Ultra TT is a UCI legal, proven race winning and record breaking TT platform.
A Time trial bike is above anything else aerodynamic, they’re about finding that all-important, unique design that gives you the performance edge over your rivals. The ever-evolving search for the perfect aerodynamic design, to this end many hours of painstaking research are carried out to find the optimal design. This is followed by many hours of tests within wind tunnels and in real world scenarios to monitor efficiency and power output. Importantly a tt bike must conform to UCI regulations if it is to be used in internationally sanctioned events. The overall objective of such time-consuming testing is to find a design that cuts through the air and creates as little drag as possible. This allows the rider to transfer more of the watts generated directly through to the road with as little wasted power as possible. To assist with this a time trial bike will have large bulky tubing profiles. Each tube will be shaped into an aerofoil profile which helps to reduce resistance and creates less drag. The geometry of a time trial bike places the rider in a very aggressive flat backed position to reduce their head on profile for better aerodynamic performance. To accomplish this the design will employ a short head tube and top tube. This allows the rider to stretch out along the aero bars armrests.
