Description
Continental Mountain King II 26 Inch Folding MTB Tyre The Swiss Army knife of MTB tyres. A new King with broad shoulders lays claim to the throne, and moves into AllMountain territory The tough 2.4 is ready for rough technical trails. Capable of defending against rocks and snakebites and providing grip when it gets fast and technical. The profile and casing have changed. The generous volume allows the King to roll swiftly and provides loads of traction and direct steering response . In fast corners the outer lugs are ramped to provide support that even in the most adverse conditions provide security . XC racers can also benefit from these attributes . Rough and wet XC courses are the application that the Mountain King II 2.2 is exactly tailored to and where it provides the necessary grip for extreme conditions. A fourth 'floating' belt in the tyre casing from bead to bead provides the anti-snakebite and anti-thorn protection that UK riders demand. This option is available in the folable version 'robust and reliable' for tough every day use. Dirt Magazine continues their glowing appraisal by saying "..it is as close as we have found to the perfect all-round trail tyre.." which carries on the legacy of its predecessor the Vertcal ProTection many moons ago... - A new era for a new King - Sturdy lugs for improved cornering performance - Rec inflation: 50 - Max inflation: 65 - Weight: 620g (26x2.2), 680g (26x2.4) - Good for XC, Trail riding, All Mountain and Freeride - "If ever there was a Swiss Army knife of tyres, this has to be it.." - DIRT 100 - 2012 - Winner of MBUK 'Do it all tyre test' - 2011

- are the tires the Protection Model? is it tubeless ready? thank you- Robert

Thanks for getting in touch.
These tyres are the basic PG version and so will not be tubeless ready.
According to Continentals website all ProTection tubeless tyres and made using the better performing BlackChili compound and not the cheaper Pure Grip compound as this tyre does.
