Room for improvementInitial impression after approx 250 miles.... paired these with a set of Hutchison fusion 5 tyres which went on with very little effort and inflated with a standard track pump.
Good points:-
Wheels look great!
Sound great! (if you like a loud freehub)
Roll and maintain speed well, they just want to go fast!
Bad points:-
For a set of £850 "tubeless ready " wheels I would at least expect them to come with tubeless valves and maybe spare spokes and nipples. I would also like to have an extra layer of rim tape and a smaller hole for the valve, I had some issues with air loss and sealant bubbling around the valve area after initial inflation.
The wheels come in 60 grams heavier than advertised which isn't a massive issue unless you're really trying to save weight.
After only 150 miles I had a loose spoke on the rear wheel and had to purchase tools to try and true the wheel myself which is ok as a temporary fix but will probably take it to my LBS to get it done properly at some point (the wheels have a max rider weight limit of 100 kilos, I am 86 kilos)
In summary, these are a good set of wheels that want to go fast! but could do with a higher level of quality control.

- Are the labels stickers or are they under the a lacquer on the rim? Are they removable?
-
Hi,
Thanks for your enquiry,
The transfers do not have a coating over them so are removable.

- I have a Ribble endurance sl disk , are these wheels compatible
-
Hi,
Thanks for your enquiry,
These are a rim brake wheel, the disc brake version models are pictured with disc brake rotors fitted (though the rotors are not included). The disc brake variant is; https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/catalog/product/view/id/70324/#pid=70321.

- Would it be possible to use the motor from the x35 motion hub on these wheels
-
Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry,
Sadly not, the wheel is not a standard width and also has to be bolted into place using external nuts (like track nuts). It also has to be built from the outset with the specific ebikemotion hub. The only compatible wheels are the Mavic Aksium which come as standard or the Carbon Cosmic's.

- Are these a standard clincher wheelset and not tubeless ready? I'm looking to move away from tubeless ready as they are a pain to fit tyres to (especially out on the road)
-
Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry,
These are tubeless compatible sorry. If you are looking to move away from tubeless compatible wheels you are going to find yourself sorely limited to available options. Due to the demand for tubeless systems, it makes little sense for manufacturers to produce clincher only wheelsets that fit both disc and non-disc brake-equipped bikes when they can produce a set of each that can accommodate both types (2 sets of wheels instead of 4). Yes, certain brands of tyres will be harder to fit than others but this is definitely the way the market is moving.

- Where are these manufactured?
-
Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry,
Like almost everything manufactured from carbon, they are produced for us in China. They feature Japanese steel sealed cartridge bearings for long term durability and silky-smooth performance. We also offer a 2-year warranty on these wheels.
