- Does 650B fit on this bike? What’s the max tire size.
-
Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry,
The CX-5 preceded the CX SL from our current range of bikes and like the SL is a thoroughbred 'cross' racer. As such it doesn't quite have the same clearance as a gravel bike. Think 38mm instead of 45mm on a 700c wheel. Theoretically, it should be possible to mount a 650b wheelset with narrower tyres such as 38's, but we have never set up up this bike in a 650b format.

What is the difference between a CGR Gravel bike and Cycle cross Bike.
Just looking for a bike to try to get fit on (which will be hard work!!!!), riding on bridle paths, canals, woods, very little road.

Hi,
Thanks for your inquiry,
The CX-5 is an out and out cross-racer so has a shorter head tube which places the rider in a more aggressive position. The CGR range is taller at the front end so is more relaxed, plus they have a wider tyre clearance of 45mm on 700c wheels as opposed to the CX's 38mm.
