We’ve selected Mavic’s lightweight and highly dependable Ksyrium S Disc wheelset, perfect for on/off road and all-season riding. Fitted with multi-purpose, tubeless-ready, Schwalbe G-one tyres, their impressive grip and fast-rolling characteristics makes them perfectly suited to roads, towpaths and bridleways.

Flat handlebars offer a comfortably relaxed riding position with a great view of your surroundings and the road ahead. The bars are fitted with LEVEL lock-on grips for improved hand security and grip and are neatly matched with a LEVEL 2 alloy handlebar stem.

A lightweight LEVEL alloy seatpost is fitted with a comfortably padded and ergonomic Selle Royale Vivo Ergo Saddle. A wide selection of saddles to suit riders of all body shapes and sizes is available to order in BikeBuilder.

Some minor quibbles:
1. There are screws for a bottle cage at the very place where one steps through the frame, so one would kick the bottle every time.
2. The screws for mounting a range extender place it so that there is not enough clearance to plug in the charger with the extender in place; it has to be unstrapped and nudged sideways a bit.
A suggestion:
I knew I needed slightly lower gearing overall, with a bottom gear low enough to climb 13% gradients or more, but there was no option available in the bike builder. So, looking around the internet, I could only find the absoluteBLACK oval chainrings that could offer compatibility with the Apex 1 system. So I bought a 38t chainring, to replace the standard 42t. The gearing is now perfect for my use - the top gear of 95 inches still lets me ride as fast as I want to go these days, 15 - 18mph, and the bottom gear of 25 inches is low enough to tackle the steep hills around me, but not too low. So my suggestion is that these absoluteBLACK oval chainrings, available in 38, 40 and 42t, could be offered as options in the bike builder on Apex 1 equipped bikes. It's uncanny how the pedalling action feels smoother, "rounder" and easier! I feel that I'm climbing hills in higher gears than before, with less effort.
