- I am thinking of upgrading my cassette for a little easier climb , hopefully new bike etc next year , but for now I have Sora cassette 12 -25 , will this 11-28 cassette fit as direct replacement ? , thanks
-
Thanks for your query.
It will swap over. You will likely also need a new chain.

- My existing cassette is a Shimano Tiagra 12-26 on a triple front. Will an 11-32 in this version fit? Thanks.

Hi Tim,
Thank you for your question.
I assume you are using the 9 speed Tiagra (4500/4503). Certain restrictions are set by Shimano in order to achieve the best performance. In the case of Tiagra (4500/4503), the largest sprocket recommended is 27T.
To add to this, the total capacity of your setup must not exceed 37 when using the 4500 GS (medium) rear derailleur.
(Capacity is the largest sprocket minus the smallest sprocket of the cassette, added to the difference between the outer and inner sprocket of the chainset)
So unfortunately the biggest ratio we can recommend for your setup is 11-27.
Best regards,

Hi
I have a Shimano Tiagra 9 speed 11-30 cassette with a triple chain set. Can I fit the 11-34 SHIMANO HG80 cassette with a new chain? If I need to change the rear derailleur, which spec do I require?
Thank you -
Thanks for your question.
Unfortunately 9-speed shimano Tiagra was only compatible with cassettes upto 30T in size.

Hi, I have the following spec at the moment.
Cassette
Shimano 9 Spd HG400 (Alivio) Cassette 11-28
Chain Shimano HG53 Chain (Sora/Tiagra 9/Deore) - 9 Speed
Chainset Shimano Sora 3000 9sp Double Chainset 170 34/50
Front Derailleur Shimano Sora 3000 9sp Double Front Gear Braze-On
Rear Derailleur Shimano Sora 3000 9sp Rear Gear Short Cage (SS)
Gear Shifters Shimano STI Levers Sora 3000 Double - 9 Speed
Can I change the cassette up to the 11-32t?
Thanks

Thanks for your question.
Unfortunately this would not be compatible, as you have a short-cage rear mech.
