Great productCame as described. Swift delivery. No issues. Very happy with this product.

cheap and powerfulleasy to set up, great price and provide lots of stopping power

Good, not great and a little heavyI bought these to replace the truly terrible Tektro Lyra calipers that my Jamis Nova came with. Easy to fit and set up/adjust. These are much better than the Tektros, though they do weigh about 50g more per caliper. Pad contact area is massively increased as is overall stopping power, especially in the wet!

Entry level mechanical disc brakesCall me a fusspot but my 'adventure road' style bike has an all Sora groupset except for the mechanical disc brakes so with the price of these being so reasonable I thought I'd give them a go. Installation was a doddle and they work really well.

look good feel good but not tested on road yetjust completed new disc c/x bike build not had chance to test fully on road although I have tested them on trainer. they adjusted easily and appear to bite well when used in conjunction with 105 5800 STI'S and DEORE 160 mm rotors (purchased from Ribble at the same time). The pads are first class and are easily replaced and available without costing life changing amounts to replace. They all look good and are machined well. very pleased!

Hi - what is the difference between the front and rear versions of this caliper? I only ask because the Shimano tech docs don't seem to distinguish between front and rear versions.
Thanks!

Thanks for the query
The caliper itself is the same. The brackets that ship with the caliper are however different.
Front is F160P/S
Rear is R160P/S
Bracket types can be found here; https://si.shimano.com/pdfs/ev/EV-SM-MA-5155.pdf
