Love my Ribble bike upgraded to electric gear change but at 63 I am starting to struggle on the bigger hills/climbs ( Newlands / Whinlatter recently) can I get a better climbing gearset so I can get an easier spin and avoid front wheel lifting?
Thanks for your inquiry,
It's a difficult one to answer as we would need to know what gear set you currently have fitted and what gearing this offers you. If we take the current iteration of Ultegra as an example, the rear derailleur will accept a cassette with the largest sprocket of 34T. At the front, the derailleur has a total capacity of 16T. Meaning that that large and small chainring can only differ by 16 teeth. So a 34/50 is possible. This would offer you a 1:1 ratio of 34/34. We hope this helps, we'll drop you an email for further clarification.
