    SRAM GX 1x11 Groupset

The GX groupset has evolved as an affordable 1x option for mountain bikers and incorporates proven trickle down technology from SRAM’s flagship groupsets. BikeRadar say the GX groupset provides, “Near-identical feel to SRAM's high-end groups, bombproof build, reliably great shifting.” It’s also been included in the most recent Dirt 100 (best mountain bike products) as a “sound choice for all but boutique bike builds.” SRAM were the pioneers in 1x dedicated drivetrain (single chainring) technology and this German engineered 11 speed groupset utilises all their experience and replaces the long-standing X7 and X9 component lines.

    Boost option

GX’s defined and accurate shifting is aided by a clutch-equipped rear derailleur which, with an ultra-wide range of gears, helps GX improve mountain biking for riders of every level of skill. Using a 32-tooth chainring 1x are not lacking in low gears on the climbs and you are certainly unlikely to spin out on off-road descents in 11th gear. SRAM offer a Boost crankset option (for those with wider Boost frames and wheels) for GX alongside standard GXP and BB30 cranksets.

    About 1x single chainring groupsets

Mountain bikes started out with three chainrings at the front and a narrow range of gears at the back. However advances in design and technology have allowed the addition of more sprockets at the back offering a huge ratio range enabling a front single chainring (1x) system to be developed. This set up means the left hand shifter and front derailleur are no longer needed allowing impressive weight saving over traditional groupsets. 1x is super simple to set up and can achieve a huge range of usable gears for tackling all types of gradient from blistering descents to technical, steep climbs making it suitable for most types of riding. It’s a smart and simple solution that’s being adopted by all kinds of riders. Whether you are a trail centre regular, cross country racer or a hard-core enduro/downhill rider, try 1x.

The SRAM GX groupset consists of:

    Chainset: SRAM crankset GX 1400 1x11 Black w 32T X-SYNC chainring.
    Bottom bracket: SRAM Bearing assembly/cups.
    Cassette: SRAM cassette PG-1150 10-42T 11 speed.
Chain: SRAM 11 speed chain PC 1130 silver with PowerLock.
Rear derailleur: SRAM rear derailleur gear GX 1x11 speed Black.
Right hand shifter: SRAM GX 11 speed X-ACTUATION Trigger Shifter.
