THE SL R
The SL R frameset is manufactured from a carefully selected blend of Toray’s T1000 and T800 carbon layered to an exacting specification using an advanced monocoque mould technology incorporating an EPS inner core system which ensures complete consistency of the structural integrity of the fibres and resin throughout the frame. This system also eliminates excess material on the inside of the frame.
Aerodynamics have been a major consideration in the development of the new Endurance SL with the new frameset generating up to 28.5% less drag compared to the previous generation.

Internal cable routing
Optional aero one piece cockpit enabling all cables to be routed internally and away from the airflow generating over 40% less drag compared to a conventional bar and stem set up (disc brake version has all cables completely hidden and caliper brake just the front brake cable).
Power transfer and torsional stiffness have been taken into account through the tapered downtube, oversize BB area, and box section chainstays ensuring that your power wattage is efficiently transferred to forward motion. The tapered fork steerer, oversize headtube area and fork profile ensure that front end stiffness is taken care for out of the saddle efforts.
Comfort through road surface impact and vibration absorption is very important in an Endurance bike and the specific shapes and profiles of the seat stays, seat post and carbon cockpit ensure that the Endurance SL is smooth and comfortable over rough road surfaces and long distances.
The SL R frameset has discreet mudguard mounts and tyre clearances for up to 30c tyres ensuring that the Endurance SL R can be ridden in all season and weather conditions.

The fully monocoque carbon Toray 800/1000 frame weighs 850g and the matching forks 400g. A full build with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 is approximately 6.8kgs.
What is the warranty on the frame?
The frame carries a 3 year warranty. All other parts have the standard manufacturer's warranty.
What is the tyre clearance?
The SL R has clearance for 28mm tyres and 25mm with full length mudguards fitted.
How many bottle cage mounts are there?
There are 2 bottle cage mounts.
What is the maximum rider weight?
We recommend a maximum rider weight of 100kgs (224lbs).
Does it take mudguards?
Yes, there are mounts for fitting mudguards.
What type of bottom bracket does the frame require?
The BB shell is PF86.
What size seatpost does the SL R require?
The semi-aero seatpost is exclusive to the SL R and is supplied with the bike.
What type of front derailleur does the frame require?
The derailleur is a braze on.
Can I fit a rack?
No, the frame does not have rack mounts.
What brakes fit this frame?
The frame takes direct mount callipers.
Are the axles quick release or thru axle?
They are standard 9mm quick release axles.
Is the bike supplied with pedals?
Due to the many different systems people use we do not supply pedals with bikes but you can find a great array of pedals here.
I am still relatively new to cycling only going on the roads hard since the March lockdown due to the limits on the other sports I do.
My aim was to upgrade from a relatively heavy alloy mid-range Boardman bike and Ribble has definitely delivered with some new KOMs in place.
The bike is very lightweight which makes a massive difference on climbs and have already gathered a few PBs and Strava trophies :)
I am surprised how different it feels on long and steep downhill sections where it feels glued to the tarmac and with the Ultegra rim brakes I feel so much safer.
The general comfort of riding is superb and the roads feel much more smooth.
I am quite flexible and always had stem very low on my previous bike, but on this one, the position is already quite aggressive, so maybe not a good choice if someone likes to sit slightly higher up.
It arrived very well boxed with lots of extra padding and protection and I had no trouble putting it all together. If you do not have a torque wrench I would highly recommend buying one before the bike arrives so that you can tighten the screws correctly.
BUT I was very disappointed to find out that the rear brake was overtightened and only realised it while not being able to keep up with my usual cycling buddy on the first ride! Also, both the front and rear derailleurs were poorly regulated and I had to start almost from scratch including the limiting screws, which was quite disappointing. Not an issue for me, but my Girlfriend would not have a clue where to start...
All in all a fantastic bike with a minor disappointment when it comes to fine-tuning of breaks and gears.
Das Fahrrad ist erst mit einem beschädigten (weil schlecht montiert) Tretlager angekommen. Das war ziemlich frustrierend, aber das Costumer Service ging so schnell um das Problem zu lösen, dass ich nur zufrieden sein kann: innerhalb 3 Tagen konnte ich einen neuen Tretlager in meinem Bikeshop installieren lassen und das Geld dafür zurück bekommen. Der Fehler gehört zum Leben, wie er gelöst wird ist das wichtigste.
Nach einer Testfahrt , das ist klar: das ist ein Spitzen-Fahrrad. Ich hatte schon ein leichtes Fahrrad, aber das ist noch anders: leicht UND sehr stabil und aero. Ich habe es noch nicht bei einer langen Fahrt getestet. Ich muss sagen, ich habe mein Traumfahrrad gefunden, und ohne das Problem mit dem Tretlager wäre es 5,5/5 für die Qualität gewesen.
- meine Laufräder mit einer äußeren Felgenbreite von 27mm passt gerade so zwischen den Felgenbremsen.
- Es ist nur schade, dass man eine zusätzliche Sattelbefestigung kaufen braucht, wenn man einen Sattel mit Carbon-Schienen installieren will... Also aufpassen und ggfs. vorbestellen, sonst muss noch gewartet werden!
- die Befestigung der Gabel geht nicht von alleine, also lieber erst das passende Youtube-Video aussuchen, bevor man sich ärgert.
- Mein Fahrrad ist 4 Wochen nach dem Versand angekommen, also schön geduldig sein!
Zum Schluss: das Fahrrad fühlt sich sehr hochwertich an, und ist dazu sehr schön durch die gute Kabelintegration, auch mit Felgenbremse!
