My Ridgeback touring bike was stolen a while ago. So I decided to buy another British made bike and after many years of riding with drop bars, this time I chose Ribble adventure 725 with loop H bar. My first ride with it was on national cycle route along the Thames towards Woolwich.
I have to say this ride was my most comfortable ride ever! This bike is like a 4x4 off road car, i just sat back and cruised! The upright position and nice grip on the loop H bar makes a huge difference for long distance rides on and off the road! Absolutely loved it!
I had my first short ride on the Adventure 725 yesterday and I'm glad to say, was mightily impressed. The ride was mostly on tarmac, but a couple of excursions onto gravel and the bike felt invincible. It was bought for a bikepacking trip to Spain next year, which will be self supported. The Adventure 725 will fit the bill to perfection. Lots of mounts at the back and the front, so carrying our gear will not be a problem. As a road bike user, the loop bars were different to say the least. However, they will give me lots of room for a bar bag and more. The gearing is definitely designed for off road, as I was in danger of spinning out on a downhill. But that's it isn't it. It is designed for off road and the lowest gear should be low enough.
The build is awesome and I consider this incredible value at £1200. Buy one if you want to go on an adventure!
