I wanted a go (nearly) anywhere, all seasons machine. The CGR 725 is so capable especially with the 650b wheels and 47mm tyres. It eats up the rough stuff and can still clip along at a respectable speed on the smooth. And she's a looker too, happy rider :)
I collected the bike from the store and was initially impressed with the handover and the appearance of the bike. On my first ride however, I noticed that a few parts had not ben installed or adjusted correctly. Fortunately I am an experienced cyclist and do all my own work, so after adjusting the bars so they pointed in the same direction as the front wheel and adjusting the gears so I had 11 rather than 9, I went on a shakedown ride. I have to say the bike performed faultlessly and is very quick and responsive but at the same time comfortable. So, despite the early small issues, I would recommend Ribble cycles as the bikes themselves are fantastic.
