At 56 I'm more interested in comfort & long rides than speed , I had been using a Merida Big nine 6000 & a Merida silex 700 , as I'm not throwing myself down cliffs these days I don't see the point of any suspension but I still want comfort on my mainly bridle way rides ,after loads of research I went for the Adventure 725 , Sram 1 x12 . The only thing I've put on it is my Brooks saddle , My first ride out on The Isle of Wight was 105km & 4500ft of climbing mainly bridle way A few adjustments of Handle bar & seat height along the way , I can't see myself using another bike & can't wait to do LEJOG on it , The Reynolds frame oozes quality especially on the welds unlike some makes . The bike came very well set up & support is great Thanks Ribble .If you like long distance rides & being able to vary your sitting position ( I like to be upright ) & want to ride over anything in comfort with loads of fixing for bike packing bags ,The Author of "LEJOG The Safe Way" is from The Isle of Wight & He assured me that none of the hills on this route are as steep as some of the ones I've already done on this bike & that's re assuring as this bike has done them all. You really need to check this bike out .
