Reliable hydraulic disc brakes do the stopping and mean that the CGR Alloy can be set up for multiple uses with a simple swap of tyres or wheelset.

Our aluminium CGR is hand built in the traditional way by frame building craftsmen, but it has also been designed to be compatible with all the recent advances including electronic shifting, internal cable routing and hydraulic braking. The bikes are hand assembled to your chosen specification in our UK workshop.

The seamless, 6061 T6 Heat Treated aluminium tube set selected is a naturally stiff frame material which provides instant acceleration and performance no matter the terrain. The ovalized top tube of the CGR Alloy adds to the frame's horizontal stiffness for performance and the vertical compliance for outstanding comfort.

The slacker tube angles of the CGR Alloy not only provide greater comfort over a race bike, but also keep the rider more centred and better balanced for endurance riding. The tube lengths and angles of the CGR Alloy have been carefully chosen to offer the optimal balance for quick handling given the wide tyre and wheel options.

Finishing touches like the simply stunning paint schemes just add to the charm of this quick and capable bike with timeless and traditional lines.

Ribble CGR AL Blue Customer Reviews

Got the Blue CGR AL with SRAM Apex 1x, Mavic Allroads and Schwalbe G-One tires. Used a cyclescheme voucher and paid the difference. The bike is beautiful, looks better in person that in the picture. Rides very nice. I am 1.75m tall, so right in between S and M sizes. I've got the M, but now think perhaps the S would have been better (it's always easier to extend the fit on a smaller bike than the opposite). But it may also be that I am out of shape after several years without cycling. I found the 1x system excellent for commuting, and haven't felt any lack of gearing or been bothered by the larger "jumps" between gears. If you're not riding at top performance, it probably won't matter to you. Haven't had a chance to try it on gravel yet.

My only gripe with the bike itself is that the top tube has a triangular cross-section near the junction with the seat tube, making the bike very uncomfortable to shoulder-carry. Also, make note that the Schwalbe One-G Allround with the classic skin-colored sidewall IS NOT TUBELESS compatible ( I bought it as an upgrade together with the Mavic Allroad rims with the intention of riding tubeless, but nope. It would be good to add a warning in the build site, and/or offer the regular, black tubeless version as an option as well.

Shipping took a bit longer than expected, and tracking it on the site was of no use (order is still in "processing" to this day). I also got the bike bundle, which at the time included a small cafe lock. After receiving the package without it and inquiring, was told that their discontinued the cafe lock and was refunded 5 pounds. Also, the cleaning supply bottles were packaged with everything else, and leaked during shipping, getting all over the other components. Luckily it didn't get into the disk breaks or the bar tape.

Overall, the bike itself is great and one of the best values around (believe me I had a spreadsheet with 20+ models - I have a problem), but the building site could include better information about the components, and the shipping and packing could get a bit more love.

And if you do get this bike, do yourself a favor and pay the small extra fee for the color-detailed seat and two-tone bar tape. It looks awesome!

The new CGR gravel bike is well balanced and extremely comfortable. Looking forward to taking it off the beaten track. Once again another quality made bike by Ribble.
