Ribble CGR AL Blue - Shimano Tiagra Customer Reviews
Really impressed with the frame quality and paint job. Easy enough to set up, would note that not all bottle cage and mud guard bolts were greased so had to check all these to prevent issues down the line.
Rides well, a bit slow up the hills, but nice and comfortable. The tektro one sided disc brake callipers aren’t great, would be food to have an option to upgrade these to the 2 sided Spyre ones. Overall great value and perfect as a commuter bike.
On arrival it was extremely well set up, simply attach bars, seat pin and saddle and I was offski! I noticed the attention to detail by carving a piece out of the mud guard for the front derailleur to move effectively.
I opted for tiagra, not the most expensive groupset. As a campagnolo user for many years, I was pleasantly surprised at the smoothness and precision of changes of tiagra. As mentioned, not the most expensive groupset, but IMO extremely good value for money. Quick, precise shifts. The 52-36 I was also nervous for, previously always using a standard double. However, it works as good in the fast and long club runs as it does in the lumpy 16 mile commute to work.
The geometry is more relaxed than the ribble winter, however this is not an issue due to the drops being a good depth, to allow a good comfortable crouch when picking up pace. It also allows a little comfort for the lumpy commute.
28mm tyres also offer a hint extra comfort, with no sacrifice for pace.
Overall, I'm very pleased and would recommend this bike.
