David Rowland
After a bit of a delay due to high levels of demand in the workshop, my new Ribble Endurance 725 Ultegra Disc arrived at the end of July. I bought this because I wanted a classic look, with the comfort of a steel ride and the reliability of modern components. When I unpacked the very well protected bike from the box, I certainly wasn’t disappointed - it was stunning in its green finish with the upgraded brown bar tape and brown leather brooks saddle. Out on the road, I was blown away - really comfortable ride, sure footed on the corners and steep descents, really nice, progressive braking and flawless gear changes. On my first ride it was typical west of Scotland weather with glorious sunshine one minute and rain the next, but the SKS mudguards did the trick of keeping my dry. I was amazed at how responsive this frame was and what a turn of speed it had - I had not been expecting that from a steel frame - and when I left a couple of other riders on carbon frames for dead on the last major climb before home, I did so with the biggest smile on my face! Thank you to the guys at Ribble for designing such a fantastic bike and the workshop team for setting it up just right - I am sure years of happy cycling lie ahead.
