The Endurance SL Disc Pro Spec is a superlight carbon endurance road bike that blends drag-defying aerodynamics with the wireless electronic shifting precision of Shimano's latest Ultegra R8100 Di2 series drivetrain. Shimano has completely redesigned Di2 to provide the fastest and most reliable 2x12 speed wireless electronic shifting available. The weight of the bike was underwhelming - fully built with power meter, pedals, bottle cages and an integrated K-edge Splayed mount it weighs in at 8.9kg (without mudguards), however a significant amount of this weight is in the Aksium wheels (over 1.9kg) and Continental ultra sport tyres (340g each!!), so some significant weight reduction can be made by upgrading these. That being said the weight is not all that noticeable (except on steeper climbs) - it moves along at a decent pace, feels super stiff and responsive and the geometry is on the racier side (especially with some stem spacers removed), which I prefer.
It's certainly not as lively as my superlight race bike; rather it feels more stable and comfortable - maybe these characteristics will change somewhat once I've upgraded the wheels and tyres. As advertised the frame genuinely does feel like its soaking up that road buzz and I could happily spend hours riding in comfort on it. It goes without saying that Ultegra Di2 is flawless and Ribble have thought about this too; putting the charging port neatly into the downtube adding to the cleanness and full integration of the bike. Overall I'm super pleased with it - it does everything I need it to (commuter, winter bike, fun summer training bike, easy to service, full integration with clean lines, disc brakes, price) and as far as I can see there really is nothing else which ticks all these boxes currently on the market (trust me I looked!!).
