    LEVEL 5 Carbon Integrated

Shimano Ultegra R8100 has been completely redesigned with all-new ergonomics, even greater brake modulation and wireless electronic shifting precision. It delivers the world’s fastest and most reliable wireless shifting and a wide gear range that means no matter how steep a climb is, it’s never outside your comfort zone. Di2 gives you instant, accurate, lightning-fast shifts every time, at the push of a button. Even in the most extreme of conditions, shifting is precise and controlled. You can even change gear under heavy load while climbing or accelerating. With Di2, you are in complete control.

Mavic's Cosmic SL45 Carbon wheelset is light and deep which translates into enhanced aerodynamics, acceleration and crosswind stability. Fitted with a set of Continental Grand Prix GT tyres which feature Conti's patented Black Chili construction and results in a set of fast-rolling tyres which hold the road, even in the wet.

A LEVEL 5 carbon integrated handlebar and stem system allows for all cables to be completely hidden within the frame for a much cleaner profile and improved aerodynamics of up to 40% over a traditional handlebar and stem set up. A Fizik Antares R5 saddle sits atop a Ribble SL carbon seatpost with 5mm offset for more adjustability. Finally a LEVEL embossed handlebar tape provides additional comfort through vibration absorption.

Bike arrived virtually ready to ride. Hardest part was disposing of the box.

Straight off to my local hard climb, Mam Nick from Edale.

Started off in electric green mode and forgot to bother with gear changes. Also forgot that above 25kph the electric motor doesnt help. It looked and felt just like a normal road bike and I didn't notice the extra 3.5kg weight.

At the foot of the climb my pal suggested I tried the red mode and started using the gears too.

Good move, because I soon arrived at the usual fall-off point and cruised past it. Not effortlessly, but comfortable.

The essence is to use the electric power as if it gave a few extra gears.

Afterwards I tried an electric mtb. A totally different experience! In turbo mode the extra power was like a kick in the pants and the weight of the whole bike was un-nerving. By comparison the Ribble e-bike just felt normal, like a road bike with extra gears.
