I love my new Ribble R872. Putting it together out of the box was very easy. The first ride was fantastic. Response is excellent, power goes right from my legs to the street with no hesitation. I used to slow down after cresting a hill but I no longer have to do that, this bike just wants to keep going.
My favorite aspect about this bike is the comfort level. Bottom line is I can spend more time on this bike and it takes less effort to gobble up the miles which equals a more enjoyable, longer ride.
I bought the R872 Disc Road Bike with the Shimano Ultegra package. I upgraded the wheels to the Mavic Ksyriums and for the additional cost they are excellent.
On unpacking I noticed 28mm tubeless tyres had been fitted at no extra cost, but 2 inner tubes and 2 extra tyres were included. I asume this was in case you did not want the tubeless.
The first ride was so much smoother and more comfortable than my other bike, a Ribble Sportive on 700x23 tube tyres.
The disc brakes are not as sharp as I anticipated and no problem to adapt to.
The Shimano Ultegra 34/50 front and 28/11 rear is fine for cycling around here even on the steeper hills. I had to slightly adjust the rear mech as it was skipping a little bit. I think I am going to enjoy the bike.
