THE ROLE
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and people-focused People Advisor to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role covering the full employee lifecycle, supporting colleagues and giving managers the confidence to tackle day-to-day People matters.
You’ll provide practical advice, take ownership of key activities and help us deliver a positive, consistent experience for every colleague. Working closely with the People Operations Manager, you’ll have the freedom to manage your workload, with expert guidance on hand for the more complex issues.
No two days are the same. You’ll get involved in everything from recruitment and onboarding to engagement initiatives and policy improvements, with plenty of opportunity to learn and broaden your expertise. A big part of your focus will be supporting our retail teams as they grow, ensuring they have the right people and the right support to thrive.
This role is perfect if you’ve built a solid HR foundation and are ready to take the next step into a broader advisory position - or if you’re an experienced Advisor looking for more variety and scope.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day People matters, providing practical advice and ensuring issues are managed fairly and in line with policy. Support managers across areas such as attendance, performance, probation and flexible working, escalating more complex cases when needed.
Recruitment & Onboarding Manage end-to-end recruitment activity, from drafting job descriptions to coordinating interviews and candidate communication. Oversee onboarding processes – contracts, compliance checks and induction – to deliver a smooth and positive new starter experience.
People Administration & Systems Maintain accurate employee records and documentation, ensuring GDPR compliance and timely payroll input. Prepare employment contracts and changes, and use HR systems and digital tools effectively to streamline processes and support decision-making through reporting.
Employee Experience & Engagement Help deliver engagement initiatives, wellbeing activities and recognition programmes. Support internal People communications, coordinate learning and development activity, and carry out exit interviews to gather and share insights.
Policies, Compliance & Continuous Improvement Contribute to policy reviews and ensure compliance with employment legislation. Champion continuous improvement by spotting practical opportunities to refine processes and support key projects that enhance the colleague experience.
